Our Projects and Sites
Celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival with us in the OMI at our 5th Annual OMI Mid Autumn Festival!
The Mid Autumn Festival marks a time for family reunions and giving thanks. We invite you to join us to sip green tea and nibble on home made mochi muffins and “snowy bites” from our friends at Blue House Cafe! Sample artisan moon cakes made right here in the OMI by East West Connfections! Make lanterns with the team from our own Oceanview SFPL with kits from the Museum of Craft and Design. Enjoy storytelling though sound with the San Francisco Guzheng Music Society.
The round, full moon symbolizes togetherness, bring something round to share on the potluck table! We’ll have cookies, tangerines, dumplings and more to enjoy with neighbors!

The Brotherhood Greenway Project
We Are OMI has been stewarding the Brotherwood greenway since 2020. We pick up trash, pull weeds, prune bushes and trees and abate graffiti. We led neighbors in a mural project to replace tags on our neighbors’ fence lines with positive community messaging and art!
In 2023, we applied for and were awarded a Community Challenge Grant from the city of San Francisco. We had over a dozen letters form neighbors, small businesses and community members to support the creating a Nature Exploration Area for the OMI community like so many popping up around San Francisco.
We are excited to announce we are finally ready to break ground on our project! We are excited to create a space for gathering with family and friends and enjoying nature right here on the Brotherhood Greenway. We can’t wait to collaborate with neighbors to program the space with outdoor education, nature appreciations and learning activities. We will also be be looking for lots of volunteers to help us keep this space clean and green, please join us!
UPDATE 8/31/2026: We are go for launch! Building starts TUE September 1st, 2026. If you have questions, or would like to propose ides for free community programming in the NEA, please reach out to us at: We.ARE.OMI@gmail.com

Randolph Bright Mini Park
We’re excited that the Randolph and Bright Mini Park project will be moving forward this year. See update HERE.
The Randolph and Bright Mini Park concept plan will go to the Rec and Park Commission approval in February.
The concept will be presented at the Capital Committee on February 4, 2026, after which the Commissioners will either:
- Request that the item be presented again at Full Commission on February 19, 2026 or
- Move it directly to the consent calendar on February 19, 2026 (no additional presentation required).
We Are OMI is a proud supporter of this project and we are excited to continue the work we started with the community renovation project we led in October 2022 with the generous support from Rebuilding Together SF and Children in Nature. 💙OMI
